BBQ Rib of Beef (Camping!)
So I mentioned in one of my previous posts about the Cobb BBQ that it was really good at anything you throw at it. I’m not kidding. I think we got a 3 rib of beef from a local farm shop, with the full intention of BBQing it. At the point of buying it, I thought, “Yeah… that’ll fit… sure…”
Ever bought a big bit of meat from a butchers/farm shop, then got home and realised that because when you’re in the butchers, surrounded by huge carcasses and great size chopping boards, that something you thought was a sensible size, was actually ridiculous? (I’ve done that a LOT).
Anyway…
We had to chop it in half. We covered it in salt, pepper and garlic, and got the BBQ up to temperature.
It was looking pretty good. We took it off, and let it rest for AGES. Then we cooked up some jacket potatoes on the Cobb:
We simply turned them on a regular basis, and they came out perfect.
We used our gas hobs to boil up some veg, and heat up some sauce, and my word… well, if that’s not a decent camping meal, I don’t know what is!!
