Two quick ‘end results’

Obviously as you may have gathered, I take a lot of photos of food as I cook. I enjoy it, and I for the large part – was never taking photos to share. Sometimes I’d share with my brother as we both enjoy cooking and often share recipes, but much of the time, I take photos for my own reference.

I look back and I think of the recipe, what I did/how I cooked it, and more importantly – whether I’d want it again.

I’d often forget completely – because I was more interested in just getting dinner served up and most importantly, eaten.

So I thought I’d share two quick dinners I’d made:

The second I poured that sauce over that steak, I thought “Nooo! I didn’t get a photo!” – so I took one anyway. And actually – that sauce was REALLY nice. I chopped up some mushrooms, bacon lardons, and then after I cooked the steak, cooked those up in the same pan. I then added the juices from the rested beef and some cream. It was REALLY good.

Next quickie meal, was pork tenderloin.

I’d normally give the pork a quick coating in something, often just whatever spices/herbs I have to hand, then fry it until cooked (probing with a thermometer – it could have been around this time I got my thermapen, I don’t actually remember – but that’s another game-changer!).

That looks a little dry in the photo, but I remember that meal enough to remember it wasn’t dry – it was really good! Cooked up on a bed of onions and mushrooms which were cooked in the same manner as the steak sauce – so fry up the tenderloin, then once that’s resting start cooking up the veg in the same pan, add the juices from the meat, winner winner porky dinner!
